I was a fan in the beginning, but the more I used it, the more I felt like it was the kind of app that created a bunch of maintenance busywork. The UI feels busy. It takes a bunch of tutorials to figure out how to use it effectively. It's fiddly with a bunch of menu items and checkboxes to configure each entry. It's a tail-wagging app that requires a lot of your attention. I got tired of using it at some point.
Omnifocus 3 Review
In my case, I found Todoist to be more flexible, cleaner UI, and minimalistic, all of which I strongly prefer, and it's what I happily use now. Besides, I found that the best way to manage tasks is not to over-track tasks and have less sh!t to do. I found that OmniFocus tended to make me overthink task management with all kinds of bells and whistles, and it made me want to add more and more.
